About the MOT

The MOT is a legal requirement for vehicles registered within the UK.
All road users are responsible for keeping thier vehicle in a road worthy condition. The MOT checks that all vehicles meet road safety and environmental standards.

MOT Requirements

The MOT test is required for a vehicle at three years old and every year there after.
The MOT test checks items and components on the vehicle that must meet legal requirements at the time of the test.

These items include:
Lighting, reflectors and electrical equipment
Steering and suspension
Brakes
Tyres and road wheels
Seat belts and supplementary restraint systems (SRS)
Body structure and general items
Exhaust
Fuel and emissions
Drivers view of the road

All MOT tests are completed to VOSAs high standard by fully qualified MOT testers.

The MOT test can be carried out up to one calendar month before the test expiry date.
